The Collection of Crisis of the Werkbundarchiv – Museum der Dinge is a collective collection project in the context of the coronavirus crisis. What role do things in particular play in the culture of memory? Which objects can illustrate a time of crisis like the present one? Take part!

About the Collection

Since the 1970s the Werkbundarchiv – Museum der Dinge is collecting objects with design-historic significance as well as archive material and objects to document modern everyday life characterized by commodity culture.

Document Collection - The Archives

The Archives contain some 40,000 documents, including a collection on the Deutscher Werkbund that is unique the world over, and a collection on modern design history and everyday culture.

Library

The Library holds some 20,000 titles, including books, periodicals and other media on the history and principles of the Deutsche Werkbund, cultural history, design and the everyday culture of the 20th and 21st centuries. It is open to private and scientific research.

The museum is located on the 3rd floor oft he building. You reach it via the first staircase.
